QHotels Reveals The Nation's Favourite Wedding Photos
The polls are closed, the votes have been counted and the British public have chosen the winning entries in the annual QHotels Wedding Photo Awards.
For the second year running, the luxury hotel group invited newlyweds, photographers and wedding guests up and down the country to enter a photo from their special day in a bid to find the most romantic, heart-warming and amusing wedding photographs to inspire the nation.
More than 100 entries were submitted across five different categories, which QHotels’ expert wedding team shortlisted, with the final photos receiving over 1,300 votes on Facebook and Instagram.
The winning entries include an atmospheric black and white ‘Best First Dance’ shot submitted by Fiona and Graeme Roberts of Leeds, who are celebrating their first anniversary this month. The couple also won the ‘Best Themed Photograph’ category with an image of the bridal party against the imposing backdrop of The Queens in Leeds.
Bride, Rebecca Oxtoby, of Liverpool, won the ‘Best First Look’ category with an emotive photograph with her grandad, whilst Kirsty Rushby’s amusing photograph of a bride clutching an umbrella and gathering up her gown to dash across a damp lawn in the rain took the ‘Funniest Photograph’ title.
Wedding photographer, Stephen McGowan’s romantic image of newlyweds sharing a passionate kiss in a field of maize scooped the most votes in the ‘Perfect Kiss’ category.
QHotels’ marketing director, Claire Rowland, said: “Following the success of last year’s competition, we were thrilled to have even more beautiful entries to choose from this year, spanning a diverse range of styles, moods and themes. Our judges had a really tough time deciding on their shortlist.
“Congratulations to our winners and many thanks to everyone who entered and voted. It’s safe to say the winning entries will provide a wealth of inspiration for our wedding teams and hopefully anyone planning their own special day, too.”
