The civil ceremonies, which are non-religious but legally binding, can be held in various locations within Durham University’s sentimental, historic venue. Celebrate your summertime wedding in the beautiful secluded Fellows Garden, or take the occasion indoors to the majestic, atmospheric Norman Gallery. Smaller, more intimate, indoor ceremonies can also be arranged in the Senate Room, Octagon Room or Bishop Suite.
The castle can accommodate both daytime and evening wedding receptions for up to 200 guests, offering an exciting blend of heritage and splendour, superb food and outstanding service all the important aspects to make your day stand out.
