Plan For Shelter Or A Back-Up Venue

When choosing a location, make sure that the area has a designated back-up to move to, should it start pouring. Weather-Proof Your Look

Of course, don’t forget your hair. Lisa Jones suggests not relying on products like hair spray alone, but to choose styles that won’t fall flat as soon as it gets wet. A messy bun, for instance, is low maintenance and can be fixed in an instant. Similarly, a sleek ponytail does not require too much product or pins just to hold it. With hairdos like these, you won’t have to worry about your hair looking off or messy in photos.

Secure Your Photographer

It can be trickier to shoot in the rain, but you’ll still want every moment to be documented. Talk to your photographer to check that they have a back-up plan in case of rain. Ensure they’ve got gear that’s prepared to get down and dirty if needed.

Stay Positive

Ultimately, how you and your groom will react is what will set the tone for the celebration. Take for example the newlyweds Jemma Swainston-Rainford and Steven Lucock, who made headlines recently when their big day faced the wrath of a snowstorm. Their solution? Make an incredible photo opportunity out of it. Sure enough, the results were a unique winter wonderland take on a beautiful wedding.
