‘CARNIVAL TIME’ AT THE CAVENDISH PAVILION
The Cavendish Pavilion enjoys delightfully picturesque scenery. This Victorian style Pavilion is perfect for less formal, stylish weddings on the Banks of the River Wharfe by Bolton Abbey.
Many couples share stories of playful days jumping across the stepping stones just down the river when they were children and so feel an extra special connection to the venue.
At the turn of last century this area was once a busy haven for day trippers, travelling by steam train from the mill towns to enjoy a day out in the fresh air.
It was this piece of social history that shaped the unusual design of the Cavendish Pavilion, its appearance reminiscent of an old-fashioned railway station!
In our photographic shoot, ‘Carnival Time’, we embraced those halcyon days, to create a fun-filled bridal celebration, with all the fun of the fair.
Vibrant colours ‘pop’ from each of the stills, a vibrant contrast to the shade of nature surrounding the venue. Bright carnival colours, streamers and balloons added to the party atmosphere for the shoot.
The ‘Big Top’ inspired decorations including brightly-coloured lions and zebras, candy-striped deckchairs, hoop-la donuts, and hook-a-duck party games, made for a full-filled and playful day, beautifully captured by photographer Jenny Maden, who likes to have fun with shoots & experiment with new ideas.
The venue features a traditional fireplace, with a welcoming red wood burner stove, and an integral bar. As well as being convivial and full of natural light. This unique space also provides a ‘neutral canvas’, which can be styled on the day to reflect the couple’s individual tastes, and their shared vision of the dream wedding celebration.
Belle says: We love the natural, clean and minimal aesthetic of Cavendish Pavillion. It lends itself to almost any theme, this is the perfect shoot for us to feature at spring time, the pops of colour really work and give this photo shoot a really fresh edge. Even the food was fun and in keeping with a really big trend for 2019, which is grazing plates and fun finger food.
