Bohemian Opulence
There’s just something about a bohemian wedding. Maybe it’s the relaxing atmosphere or free-spirited feeling of the maverick inspired dresses that does it; either way, the trend of boho weddings is going nowhere fast. There’s a common misconception that to have a boho wedding, you need your venue to be a barn or outdoors, but recently a collective of regional wedding suppliers came together to style a wedding shoot dripping in bohemian opulence at the luxurious Rockliffe Hall. The ambitious shoot was photographed by Emma Ryan and co-ordinated by Kate Kennedy of The Destination Wedding Company.
The Venue
Currently the only AA- rated 5 red star resort in the north, the secluded Rockliffe Hall is perfectly situated within 375 acres of breath-taking grounds and offers couples an exclusive and indulgent wedding day.
The Bride’s Look
BexBride’s Bex Lombard-Earl provided bespoke gowns for the shoot, hand-made from vintage fabric. A reimagined version of Bex’s popular ‘Rowan’ gown, dreamy flowing sleeves and a vintage brooch added the finishing touches to this re-envisioned boho dress.
The hair by Charlotte Riley created an effortless cascade of curls, flourished with twinkling jewels and a smokey eye by Anna Cordelia, to create a look that says ‘I woke up like this.’
The Bridesmaids' Dresses
Rich, red and green bridesmaid dresses with cowl detailing by the increasingly in demand Lielle Womenswear complimented Jenni of Ruffled Flower’s bouquets which balanced the wild gypsy spirit of bohemian with the structured feel of the Hall. The floral arrangements were made up of many foraged items, sitting alongside exotic blooms.
The Groom’s Suit
The pops of emerald green running throughout the groom’s three-piece suit by Nicholas of Dandy Threads made for a chic, clean cut look in contrast to the quintessential boho groom’s attire.
Unique Cake
This shoot not only reinvented the bohemian wedding, cake maker Gabriella Grace Elliot shook up tradition with a dark and decadent wedding cake, topped with intricate sugar flowers and gold ruffles.
The Stationery
The green touches throughout the wedding party didn’t stop at the stationery. Darling Ivy’s Stephanie Barwick created one-of-a-kind, deep green scrolled place names, accented with gold and expertly designed spinning wedding invites which are sure to change the game for not only the bohemian bride, but all brides looking to put a unique touch on their wedding invitations.
The definition of bohemian is to be socially unconventional in an artistic way and this shoot effortlessly portrays that.
