The Wedding Wardrobe
INTRODUCTION
Based in Chester-le-Street in County Durham, newly-engaged babes travel from all over the north east for The Wedding Wardrobe’s relaxed atmosphere, beautiful wedding dresses and friendly team of knowledgeable stylists.
Throw in gown storage, in-house alterations, bridesmaid lines, accessories collections and post-wedding dry-cleaning, and you have a one-stop bridalwear Mecca. So, what are you waiting for? Round up the girls, it’s time for the bride tribe makeover!
By Appointment
Set across two floors, with the Bridal Room upstairs and the bridesmaid department on the ground floor, the boutique is equipped to offer appointments for both you and your BFFs.
Brides can enjoy a 90-minute private consultation in the huge dressing room, with up to three guests (social distancing regulations pending).
You’ll have not only the full attention of your chosen few, but of The Wedding Wardrobe’s experienced stylists, who will recommend dresses alongside your picks, focus on how you feel in each design, the fits required and the accessories to match.
Once you’ve selected your dream dress, the boutique can make any fit alterations necessary, hold it for a small fee, and members of the team can even arrange to come and help dress you on the day, if necessary.
Bridesmaids are invited to book hour-long sessions – with two guests allowed – to sample the wide range of Dessy silhouettes and shades available in store.
STRUT YOUR STUFF:
There’s even a catwalk for you to make your own: perfect for sashaying your way through selection of gowns from Morilee, Maggie Sottero, Lilly, Romantica Pure and House of Nicholas for your rapt audience.
Finishing touches
The Sewing Rooms is an extension of The Wedding Wardrobe.
Based just a few doors down from the main boutique, the gorgeous alterations studio can make design tweaks and fit amendments to bridal gowns, bridesmaid dresses and mother-of-the-bride outfits not bought in store.
There are no commissions too big or too small, but be conscious that pricing quotes are based on the size of the project and the intricacy of work involved.
Perfect for adding a personalised touch to your dress or ensure that your bridal party’s figures look snatched with a couture fit for the special day, this service will elevate your aisle style to another level.
BELLE LOVES:
Illusion cut outs and sequin lace and detachable Mikado silk bows, oh my! For fashion-forward brides of all shapes, Maggie Sottero’s range of mainline and plus-size styles combine sartorial panache with a sultry glamour.

REVIEWS
I was so nervous going in to try dresses for the first time but I was made to feel so at ease! Absolutely amazing service from all staff, so friendly and chatty I loved it! And I came out after finding my dress!! We will also be getting my bridesmaid dresses and Flowergirl dresses here too! Could not fault my appointment what so ever and can’t wait to go back to get my girls dresses and for my fitting! Thankyou all so much x

Incredible service. I wanted to support a local store and I am so pleased I did. Tracey and her team were amazing from the moment I walked in. First sitting with my mum and I as we talked about what I liked and didn't care for to discussing and tweeking things in dress fittings. They really listened to everything I said. They really took the time to get to know me and my preferences. I wanted an illusion neckline but just couldn't find one until Tracey my dress on me. I saw it on the hanger and knew it was mine except it was strapless. That was no problem for Tracey. Tracey and the other team members worked with me to design the top of my dress to what it is today. Amid the Covid-19 crisis, my wedding was looking like it wasn't going ahead (4.4.2020) and a phone call from my priest suggested bringing it forward. We had 36hours to get ready for a intimate, private ceremony with just immediate family. My dress was ready and waiting and just needed steaming and immediate wedding wardrobe said it was no problem it would be done. On the day (19.3.2020) four days before lockdown, Tracey came to my parent's house and for the dressing service. She was so calm putting me at ease and keeping the excitement going. Without my bridesmaids I was worried that it wouldn't feel special but along with my mum, dad, the make up artist (Victoria Holdstock) and the hairdresser (Bridal hair with Lesley) it was the most magical day. Wedding wardrobe were there for me from the first moment I walked into their shop providing a professional but really personal experience that every bride would hope for. I cannot recommend this bridal boutique enough. Prices, experience, personal touch, friendly and just perfect!

The ladies were so lovely here, weren't pushy at all and helped a lot. Beautiful dress, quite a wide selection to choose from, couldn't be happier!
