Brought together by their love of the Downton Abbey series and its fashion, and with the imminent release of the Downton Abbey film, these creatives – brought together by My Pretties UK - were inspired to do a wedding shoot with a nod to the 40’s era.

The Venue
 

The Hawkhills in North Yorkshire was the ideal setting for the shoot, as its surroundings were reminiscent of those seen in an episode of the series where the Crawley family enjoyed a summer garden party. Heading inside the venue, the grand staircase, oak panelling, and show-stopping fireplaces also fit the brief perfectly.

 
A blue colour pallet was built around both the venue and 1940’s wedding trends, so that the final scheme complimented all aspects of the shoot.
 

The Dress
 

Two stunning Eliza Jane Howell gowns were provided for the shoot by the team at Elena Ferrara Bridal. Eliza’s era inspired gowns were paired with blue shoes from Rachel Simpson and the look was completed with blue, bespoke floral hair pins from The Bobby Pin.

The minimal hair and makeup by Kaileigh Ellison MUA were also influenced by wedding looks seen on the show.
 

 

The Groom
 

Blue accessories by Ashworth and Bird, Yorkshire carried the theme through the traditional mourning suit the groom wore.
 

Finishing Touches
 

All of the delicate sweet treats and the cake were creations of Charlotte of The Cherry Blossom Bakery and were hand-painted with dedication.
Alongside these tasty touches, eye-catching florals throughout the styled shoot were provided by Gillian from Where Bee’s Meet.
