With the anticipation of the new series of Game of Thrones building and the first episode airing this very eve at 9pm in the UK (omg, are we excited for this!), we thought we’d get you in the mood with one of our all time favourite shoots from 2014.

 

The series had just begun when we were approached by North East photography talent Sean Elliott with an idea to recreate something medieval and fantastical of our own to play tribute to the sheer brilliance of this epic.

We jumped on board and began putting together a brief for this styled shoot.

Our ‘Seven Kingdoms’ location was Hulne Abbey, an exclusive and utterly mesmerising wedding venue nestled on a hillside in the private parklands of The Duke Of Northumberland. Surrounded by medieval walls and semi-ruined, it provided the perfect backdrop for our editorial.

The angelic beauty and intricacies of Claire Pettibone and Eliza Jane Howell gowns provided the beauty and grace needed to showcase best the rugged textures of our surroundings and props.

It was a labour of absolute love putting this shoot together,  with some rather acrobatic feats that wouldn’t look out of place in the series itself - but the results, we are sure you will agree, are awesome.
