REAL WEDDING

READ THE ROMANCE

Having coincidentally met at a summer job in-between university terms, Anna and Mike’s approach to life has always been ‘c’est la vie, what will be will be’ – refreshing, granted, but not a great mantra to have when it comes to planning a wedding. But, for this super relaxed pair, the day came into its own in beautiful fashion, reflecting not their ‘last minute’ approach, but moreso the love and joy they share as a couple and with friends and family.

Located just up the road from Anna’s family home and near St Mary’s Church in Gainford where they were married, the splendour of Headlam Hall was the perfect fit for this couple’s nuptials. A beautiful old country hall with gorgeous gardens and outstanding service, it ticked all the boxes for Anna, Mike and their guests.

SNAPPING FANTASTIC

Tasked with capturing the day was Mitford Photography, an esteemed Northern wedding photographer with a great eye for the detail and poignant moments. Her approach was relaxed and the results are epically romantic shots, encompassing the day’s tonal theme and natural beauty.

HEAVEN AT HEADLAM

From the fleeting moments post-ceremony outside to the first dance and smile of children’s faces, every emotion was pictured here artistically – making the perfect life long memories.

SEASIDE INSPIRATION

Anna and Mike opted to theme their day on their favourite beaches from their childhood in Cornwall and Kirkcudbright, and Dumfries and Galloway, with a beautiful blue palette carried through the florals and room setup.

Lots of fish was on the menu for these seafood lovers, with fish cake to start, sea bass for main and a which chocolate blondie with Cornish clotted cream and sorbet for dessert.

BRIDE AND GROOM Q&A

How did you feel as you walked down the aisle?

Anna: “Overwhelmed!” Mike: “Relieved as she arrived 20 minutes late.”

What’s your funniest memory from the day?

Anna's parents missing the first dance as they'd fallen to sleep when checking into their room as we'd worked them so hard in the lead up!

If you could bottle one special moment of your day to keep forever and relive whenever you needed it most, what would that moment be?

Driving in my Dad's open top Triumph from the church ceremony to Headlam and feeling so happy we'd finally tied the knot after 16 years together.

Sum up your whole wedding experience in three words.
