“We met when we were in school 11 year ago. We have a little 4 year old boy now, Irving, and our home we are building, so to get married was just perfect!”

Childhood sweethearts Gemma and Daniel wanted a fun, relaxed day surrounded by family and friends, so when they found Acklam Hall right on their very doorstep, they knew this luxurious venue was the one for them.

THE VENUE

Living near a 300-year old, historical, Grade I building when looking for wedding venues is an opportunity that can’t be passed up.

Acklam Hall, with its elegant charm and beautiful décor, was voted as the most romantic wedding venue in the North East and Gemma and Daniel definitely agreed.

Gemma said: “I would definitely recommend Acklam hall to everyone - they were brilliant with us and it is a gorgeous place!

As soon as we seen it we knew that was where we wanted to get married, we didn’t even have to look anywhere else.”

THE OUTFITS

Gemma wore an elegant a-line dress from Amore Bridal Boutique, adorned with lace on the bodice leading down into the skirt and a gorgeous embellished belt detail.

She said: “It took me about 14 dresses to find the one and I loved it. I just knew it was the one.”

The bridesmaids looked stunning in their flowing green dresses, also from Amore Bridal Boutique, which matched perfectly with the grooms’ tie and the floral arrangements.

The groom wore a green check waistcoat from Bakers Tailoring, which fit the theme perfectly.

Michael Cartwright shot the couple’s big day. Having already known Michael, the couple knew that he would capture the day perfectly.

“We couldn’t have picked anyone better or more friendly.

We couldn’t stop smiling and I’m sure the photos show that we were over the moon and we couldn’t be happier.”

“Just remember to take a moment for you two to sit, take it all in, relax and enjoy it!

The day just goes by in the blink of an eye and before you know it, it’s the end of the night and you don’t want it all to be over. Just have fun.”
