Bethany and Adam met at Northumbria University while studying English Literature and Creative Writing. It was here that the pair started to write their own love story.

Fast-forward to August 3rd 2018 and they tied the knot surrounded by friends and family in the picture-perfect setting of the Alnwick Garden. “We knew we wanted something fun and modern, and we love botanical themes, so the gardens were perfect. We just wanted to have a wedding that reflected our personalities and we wanted everyone to have fun.”

"We only looked at one other venue before The Alnwick Garden and I think we knew nothing was going to beat the gardens! It’s somewhere we have both visited for years with our family's and we loved the natural setting. There's something magical about being surrounded by plants and flowers and it all tied in so well with our botanical theme. We would definitely recommend The Alnwick Garden. Everything was perfect. Arthur, our wedding planner was brilliant and our guests loved exploring the gardens, especially in the evening when it closed to the public."

How did you choose your photographer?

“We looked at lots of different people's photos and we were looking for a modern style. I saw a friends’ wedding photographs and absolutely loved them so I messaged her. We were so grateful for the recommendation because we couldn’t have asked for a better photographer! We had so much fun getting all the different shots and Jonathon had loads of cool ideas.”

Advice for other brides and grooms?

“Lots of our friends and family told us to enjoy every minute and I think that’s great advice because it goes over so quickly! Also, when choosing suppliers, we found that meeting up with people before we booked them was integral, because we got on so well with all of our suppliers and that added to our experience massively. We also called upon the skills of our friends and family! We ended up with a team of lovely people helping us to create our vision.”

What was your highlight of the day?

“It torrentially rained during our ceremony, then the moment we walked outside the sun came out! It was lovely to see all of our guests smiling, take in the gardens and enjoy the sunshine! My Mam also did an amazing reading about a dog’s view of love.”
