Bringing American wedding barn charm to Northumberland, this cosy, rustic and welcoming wedding venue, Barn On The Bay, gave Rhona and Ben the fun and colourful spring wedding they had always envisioned.

The magical proposal took place back in 2017 on a holiday to Portugal. Rhona, of course, said yes and they set about planning the biggest day of their lives.

Barn Beauty:

Steeped in agricultural charm and set near the coastal village or Cresswell, Barn on the Bay promised the couple the intimate spaces, unique interiors and beachfront views they had only ever dreamed of.

Rhona – “We watched everyone walk over the dunes to take their seats for the ceremony, the weather was so good – it was amazing.”

From the moment the preparations began, Rhona and Ben had their hearts set on a Northumbrian coast location and after visiting Barn on the Bay, they were sure this rustic barn would help bring their colourful wedding celebration to life.

Will you Marrime?

Unlike most, this laidback bride was lucky enough to find her dream wedding dress at the first shop she visited – Jesmond-based bridal boutique, Marrime.
 
“I tried not to get too stressed about it – all I wanted was for it to be pretty and it was!” – Rhona

Gracing the aisle, Rhona wore a Grecian-style gown by designer, Catherine Deane. Graphic lace decorated the bodice while the deep v-neckline and classic silhouette added a laidback luxe to their special day.

The Bride’s Advice:

“It’s very common now for people to do everything themselves but try not to give yourself too much to do - it’s only one day so make sure you enjoy it.”
