Today we have a real wedding that is beyond beautiful featuring vintage lace, pastel bouquets and a sprinkle of fairy lights. Captured by Helen Russell Photography against the picturesque backdrop of Brinkburn Priory, Olivia and Alexander tied the knot in front of their nearest and dearest.

“We knew we liked the idea of a heritage site to get married, but the venue didn’t really go through any kind of selection process, as it was the first place we looked at. As soon as we walked into the Priory we pretty much decided that was the place we were going to get married. The set up of the tipis and having the manor house and surrounding gardens was all a bonus.”

“We were both really looking forward to the actual ceremony, given how special the Priory is. On top of that we just wanted a fun, but relaxed atmosphere, with some great food, music, dancing and laughter.”

And it seemed these newlyweds achieved just that and then some with one of their wedding guests even splitting their pants on the dance floor!

“I think we (with the help of the Brinkburn team and all of our suppliers) achieved everything we hoped and more! We were both just so overwhelmed by the entire day, but in a good way!”

“We were delighted with the photos so definitely made the right decision.”

Advice for other brides and grooms?

"Choose a venue with a good wedding team and choose professional suppliers with a lot of experience, we had a lot of help from Brinkburn and our suppliers. With their collective experience, they often thought of things we had not even considered, so everyone was a great help to us."

What was your highlight of the day?

"Everybody probably says this but definitely seeing each other as Olivia entered the Priory. In that setting surrounded by our families, who had travelled far and wide to see us, and with our closest friends all present- it was a really special moment."
