You know back in school when the teacher sits you next to your crush and you have a mini heart attack? Yeah, well that’s the heartfelt reality for Jess and Sam.

A pair of childhood sweethearts, this north east couple went on to marry each other with an exponentially stylish affair at Northumberland Guest List Venue Le Petit Château – and if the images by fellow Guest Lister Pennick Photography are anything to go by, it was a seating plan that worked wonders.

From the get go their day was all about ‘less is more’ - stripped back décor, simplistic summer florals and an intimate guest list comprising their nearest and dearest. But Jess didn’t carry the same sentiment when it came to her dress. She tried on over 30 gowns before finally finding her one – an Essense of Australia showstopper with sweetheart neckline and beautiful floral appliqué billowing into a tulle skirt. Princess perfection? Her dad certainly thought so.

THE PRETTY PINK PALACE

Nestled in the heart of Northumberland in the quaint village of Otterburn surrounded by sprawling hills, Le Petit provided the most magical backdrop for Jess and Sam’s day. Fairytale water fountains and a quite simply sublime lakeside shoot were just some of the highlights.

The whole aesthetic of the day spoke to a simple yet stylish vibe, because as Jess explains, “We wanted it to be as minimal as possible because the venue speaks for itself.”

I PICKED DOM ABOUT SEVEN YEARS AGO AFTER SEEING HIS WORK ONLINE. I WASN’T EVEN ENGAGED, BUT I KNEW HE JUST HAD TO PHOTOGRAPH MY WEDDING. HIS WORK IS ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESS.

Dom took the couple for a private photoshoot in the nearby woodland and for Jess, that was the most special moment of the whole day.

THAT TIME WE SPENT TOGETHER AWAY FROM THE GUESTS FELT MAGICAL. THE WEATHER WAS PERFECT, THE SETTING WAS PHENOMENAL AND WE LAUGHED FROM START TO FINISH.
