Peckforton Castle: Amy and Phil’s Celebration of Love
'A Day of Love.. Then your Happily Ever After.'
An exquisite space which marries traditional architecture, elegant spaces and beautiful grounds, Peckforton Castle is an incomparable Yorkshire venue for the fairytale bride.
When Amy and Phil visited the castle, they were so smitten by the vaulted ceilings, sweeping driveway and serene countryside surroundings that their venue search stopped there.
Amy and Phil started dating fourteen years ago (the day their nephew was born).
“He asked me to be his girlfriend when I was 14 initially! He got down on one knee and asked me out in front of all of our friends.” - Amy
Romantics from the start, the couple had begun their relationship while still in school.
Personal at Peckforton:
Peckforton Castle was the first and only venue they visited for their wedding day. The stately suites were incredible backdrops for the elegant cream palette chosen by the couple.
By adding further touches, such as drapes and chairs and then bringing in the imitable Red Floral Architecture's keen venue styling eye, their dreamscape had become a reality.
The Gown Hunt:
Amy felt slightly underwhelmed with the experience at first and felt some boutiques were trying to put her in dresses knew she might not like. Until she went to Ava Rose Hamilton where the experience was amazing (as was their pink fizz!)
A distinctive lace covered the sweetheart bodice of Amy’s gown, while the soft flowing skirt and low cut back provided elegance and glamour on their wedding day.
The Sarah Bruce Touch:
“Everyone needs a Sarah Bruce to photograph their wedding day. Not only is Sarah crazily creative and talented she is also an absolute pleasure to be around - after all your photographer spends the best part of your wedding day with you!” - Amy.
The couple met Sarah beforehand and as soon as they saw examples of her previous work at Peckforton Castle, they knew instantly that they wanted her to capture their wedding day.
Although their pre-shoot reinforced the fact that they had made the right decision, nothing prepared them for their reaction after seeing the first glimpse of their photographs.
“Our photographs are nothing short of magical." - Amy
“The venue is gorgeous! I love shooting at any of the windows around the castle; the light that floods in is simply stunning. The castle can be dark and a lot of the time photographers get worried about little light but it turns me into an excited light junky. I love it!
Couples tend to book me for my colourful portraits and relaxed documentary style. They also like my dance floor work; I’m usually in the thick of it getting those amazing fun shots once everyone lets their hair down.” – Sarah Bruce
