REAL WEDDING
READ THE ROMANCE
ON TOP OF THE WORLD
Childhood sweethearts Laura and Hayden first met when they were only 16 under the lights of a sixth form party. Young and blissfully in love, the pair defied all odds of adolescent romances, celebrating their 12thyear together and first (real) wedding anniversary this summer!
And on the topic of firsts, it was their first mountain they had climbed together- Walla Crag- which Hayden picked as his backdrop to pop the question- like the song goes, ain’t no mountain high enough to keep Hayden from you Laura. A bottle of fizz, and a few facetimes later and the pair were feeling on top of the world – literally!

Despite a global pandemic, three lockdowns and a husband who Laura has given 3/10 for involvement in the wedding process (and apparently that was being kind), our gorgeous bride says the planning was surprisingly smooth.

LUCKILY WE HAD EVERYTHING SORTED AND ORGANISED BEFORE COVID HIT. WE MANAGED TO MOVE OUR DATE TO THE FOLLOWING YEAR, AND WE WERE LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE A GOOD GROUP OF FRIENDS WHO ORGANISED AMAZING STAG AND HEN CELEBRATIONS AT A LATER DATE FOR US!

Hen and Stag do’s sorted, the panic was over and the excitement could resume. Keeping with the nature, countryside theme, it was only right that Healey Barn was the location for this couple to tie the knot. The pair first fell head over heels after seeing their friends wed here back in 2016.

AS SOON AS WE WALKED INTO HEALEY BARN I FELL IN LOVE ALL OVER AGAIN. I TURNED AROUND TO SEE BOTH OUR MAM’S IN TEARS WHO EQUALLY AGREED IT WAS THE ONE.

AS IF BY FATE
Unlike your typical photographer consultation, Laura met beloved guestlist snapper Sean Elliott while he was capturing her friends' wedding, and after swooning over the love-struck album of images, she was sure she'd made the perfect choice.

SEAN SAID ‘WHOEVER CAPTURES THE BOUQUET, I WILL COME AND CAPTURE YOUR WEDDING’ I CAUGHT THE BOUQUET WITH ONE HAND, AND TWO YEARS LATER, WE BOOKED SEAN!

Q&A
Who gets the gold medal in the wedding Olympics for helping make your day amazing?
All of our suppliers that helped us move our date twice due to lockdown. Some of them took the time to ring up and ask if we were okay, this was appreciated more than they’ll ever know.
What’s your funniest memory?
The torrential rain in August! Typical!
And most special?
My 91-year-old Grandad making it to our special day. He was poorly and shielding for so long due to covid. We were prepared for him only managing to stay for the service but he was a total trooper and lasted until 10pm and didn’t want to leave. The next day he said “ I wish we could do yesterday all over again, it was such a wonderful day”

TOP TIPS FOR COUPLES?
- Use a planning journal and set a realistic budget
- Enjoy every moment! (it really does go so quick)
- Don’t stress over the tiny details because on the day you wont even have time to notice them ( neither will anyone else)
- Ensure you have time just the two of you on your big day to take it all in
