Rudding Park: Betty and James' Stunning, Floral Celebration
Inspired by the lavish celebrations held in the Middle East, Betty and James Dean held an extraordinary wedding in the stylish and sophisticated setting of Rudding Park.
“I loved looking at weddings in Dubai. They are so extravagant and have so much wow factor… I knew I definitely wanted that.” - Betty
For the bride, flowers were an incredibly important aspect when it came to styling. Just like the tradition of having a grand theme at an Arabic celebration, Betty decided that a pink colour scheme with a huge floral focus was essential.
“A wedding is not a wedding without flowers. I really loved the idea of walking into my venue and seeing nothing but floral arrangements.” - Betty
James Dean popped the question on the 27th October 2017 – Betty’s birthday – in Harrods Ice Cream Parlour, giving the couple just under a year to plan the wedding. The theme was executed to perfection, with the help of the Rudding Park team and wedding planner, Sue White.
The Venue
The modern and contemporary suites at Rudding Park provided the perfect backdrop for their floral showcase and the crisp, white hues within the rooms really allowed the pink to pop.
“I love Rudding Park. I knew I wanted big centrepieces on my tables and Rudding’s celebration suite had the high ceilings I needed. Plus, the service is five-star and the location of Harrogate is so beautiful.” - Betty
The attention to detail was exquisite – from the rose- and peony-filled bouquets, blooming candelabras and whimsical floral arches that greeted guests at the church and wedding reception, to the pastel petals that cascaded down the staircases at Betty’s family home and Rudding Park. Tables were adorned with extravagant cherry blossom trees, which stood as centrepieces. Sugar-crafted florals adorned the tiers of their three wedding cakes, and origami roses topped with pearls were created as favours for every place setting.
When the celebrations had come to an end, the couple whisked themselves away to the shimmering shores of the Maldives, where they spent 10 days honeymooning in a luxurious hut on the beach.
“Walking back down the aisle after I was married. It just felt like I was dreaming.” - Betty
The Dress
“I always loved looking at Arab brides and they inspired me a lot when it came to my dress. I came across Jacykay on Instagram. I told them I was from the UK and they were so helpful… They got my dress done with only two fittings. It’s important to feel like yourself on your wedding day, so I would advise brides to find a style that suits you.” - Betty
