St. Chad’s College: Zuzanna and Brendan’s Intimate Summer Celebration
“I teared up the minute I started walking down the aisle.”
From university students to husband and wife, St Chad's is where Zuzanna and Brendan’s fairytale relationship began…
Zuzanna and Brendan first met at university and bonded over their shared love of music, travel and good food. Their love grew stronger and knew from the get-go that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together.
The couple always dreamt of adding personal touches to their wedding day and with the help of their old university choir performing at the ceremony, all of their dreams came true.
The Venue
Set in the beautiful historic surroundings of Durham, St. Chad’s College played home to the wedding of Zuzanna and Brendan.
As Zuanna lived at the college during her studies, this venue had always held a place in her heart.
With the help of the professional service, grand interiors and splendid surroundings, St. Chad’s College provided a day that Zuzanna and Brendan could cherish forever.
Zuzanna – “We would definitely recommend this venue to other couples. The guests commented on how wonderful it was to have everything in one place - from the ceremony to the reception. The venue is really pretty and perfect for unpredictable weather, as it has beautiful gardens but also an indoor courtyard for the reception.”
With exclusive use of the whole ground floor and college gardens, the newly weds were able to decorate this blank canvas venue just how they wanted it.
To go alongside their summer meadow theme, Zuzanna and Brendan scattered their reception room in colours of yellow and blue. By adding gorgeous wildflowers, from Northumbrian Flowers, and indoor lights, they were able to create a romantic opulence.
The Dress
“My mum’s hometown in Poland happens to specialise in wedding dress design so I found my wedding dress there.
It took me a few months to come to a final decision but in the end I went with my brother’s choice! It was a bespoke gown, so I stayed in Poland for a week while it was altered.” - Zuzanna
The Polish boutique caught the bride’s eye, when she came across this beautiful MS Moda gown. Zuzanna walked the commanding aisle in this stunning a-line dress, fit for a princess - complete with lace detailing, illusion sweetheart neckline and flowing skirt.
The Bride’s Words
“You get out what you put in. It felt like lots of hard work, but it was definitely worth it in the end.”
