As Yorkshire’s only 5-star hotel The Grand Hotel and Spa offered Sadie and Felix an incomparable location in the City Centre of York. The resplendent interior of the palatial venue, along with the personal touches provided by the dedicated staff, was everything the couple could wish for, for their wedding day. 

 
Grand Beginnings

 
Just across the road from what would eventually become their wedding venue, Sadie and Felix met. At the time they had no idea that the iconic venue, often likened to a palace, would one day become the location where they would take their first steps as husband and wife – coming full circle under the opulent eye of The Grand, York. 
 

 
Location, Location, Location

 
Not only was the The Grand everything the couple could ask for in terms of venue, but its situation, overlooking the York Minster, offers unbelievable views and the must-have, picture perfect backdrop.

“The food was incredible (we didn't really expect anything less after our menu tasting). The Chef and their team at the grand clearly paid a lot of attention to every detail across every course and every plate. With the risk of sounding biased, it was the best food we've ever had at a wedding - or most restaurants for that matter! We're still baffled at how they managed to cater for over sixty people at such a high quality”.

 
Living up to The Grand’s reputation, the staff couldn’t do enough to make Sadie and Felix’s day memorable. From long hours working with the couple to plan their special day, to bending over backwards to ensure that every guest had a smile on their face.

Being a huge fan of bridal designer Justin Alexander her whole life, when it came to choosing the gown to walk down The Grand’s sweeping staircases and commanding aisle in, Sadie all but knew it would be one of his designs. After trying on a few dresses in other shops, the bride-to-be walked into Belle’s and Beaus and fell in love with the first Justin Alexander gown she saw. No matter how many she tried on, she always returned to that one – and once she eventually tried it on, she knew she never wanted to take it off again.

Renowned for its culinary excellence, The Grand served the couple and their guests a Wedding breakfast full of irresistible flavours from their award-winning kitchen. Head chef Craig Atchinson and his team are passionate about making a couple’s wedding meal as memorable as the rest of the day.
