INTRODUCTION
Cumbria Tourism's Wedding Venue of the Year 2022! Located just a few miles from Penrith, England, Askham Hall and Bank Barn provides the modern country house and barn wedding venue combo you’ve been looking for. Situated along the edge of the beautiful Lake District National Park in Cumbria, the venue is suitable for celebrations of all sizes and styles. It offers a luxurious, intimate and relaxed place in which to say “I do”. Askham Hall is licensed for civil ceremonies in the Grade II listed barn, the 16th century Medieval Hall and the Grade I listed manor house. If the weather is on your side, the outdoor garden pavilion is also available for tying the knot. For a traditional ceremony, St. Peters Church and St. Michael’s Church are just a short distance away. On the venue's grounds, the Bank Barn has been beautifully restored to welcome you and your loved ones. It boasts original features, such as bare stone walls
and a beamed oak ceiling, mixed with contemporary décor. Seating up to 150 guests, it is a fantastic setting for a wedding in every season. The cosier 16th century Medieval Hall is perfect for mid-week minimonies. Askham Hall is the home of Allium, a Michelin-Starred restaurant located within the manor house. This restaurant also holds four AA rosettes for both its menu and wine list. It can accommodate 30 people and is best for small wedding breakfasts. In addition, the hotel asks that you spend two nights minimum if you are holding your nuptials here. This means that you will have the entire day beforehand to set up your wedding perfectly with the help of the dedicated events team. 19 luxurious bedrooms will be at your disposal, and 11 rooms at the venue's sister country inn, George and Dragon, Clifton. In addition, The Queen's Head is a charming inn with 6 bedrooms, located in the village of Askham.
SPACE TO ENTERTAIN
Expose the rustic charm of the lovingly restored Bank Barn, converted into a superior wedding space, holding up to 150 seated guests and up to 200 guests for the evening.
With large glass doors, wooden features and a canopy of a thousand fairy lights hanging from stunning oak beams overhead, couples will get lost in this romantic space before unwinding in one of Askham Hall’s beautifully designed rooms when the celebrations come to an end.
Searching for something a little more intimate? Then why not opt for a smaller space holding anywhere between 2 to 30 seated guests - explore the hidden treasures of the Garden Pavilion or take a trip to the beautiful Medieval Hall, dating back to the 1500s with many original features still intact.
