headshot Lush make-up artist Charlotte Howe shares her top tips for bridal beauty, using the Emotional Brilliance collection - all about wearing something specifically suited to you.
"Shrugging off winter blues can be harder than you think because your skin goes through more changes during the colder months. Preparing correctly before your spring/ summer wedding will help both bride and groom look glowing and fresh on their big day."
"The couple can do lots of the skincare work together. Choosing the right moisturiser for your skin is my number one tip. Many people go too rich coming out of the winter period, so definitely consult professional advice on this as your skin will take time to adapt to a new regime. I also recommend a lip scrub. Lush sugar scrubs contain jojoba oil to leave moisture on the lips even after the exfoliating process. It is not enough to just hydrate the lips with a good balm, a scrub will smooth the texture, and for the Bride, this is vital for the lip colour she will wear."

"The bride should experiment early with foundation colours even if you are using a make up artist for the big day. This is something that you should get comfortable with straight away as the wrong colour can make or break the appearance and tone of the skin in photographs. I recommend Lush colour supplements as these can be used alone or blended in with a moisturiser and can be dosed according to how much coverage and colour you require. Also, mix in a highlighter such as Feeling Younger for a dewy and luminous look."

"Finally look after your eyelashes and use something that takes care of them and let's them grow strong and long for the big day. Our Eyes Right mascara is packed with wheatgrass, which acts like a superfood for your lashes and keeps them full and healthy."

"Lastly, think about your colour palette and how you want to feel on the big day. You want to be timeless and elegant so choose hues that will complement this. My favourite colour for Brides is Perspective liquid lipstick, which is an antique rose. I also love to use this as a cream blusher on the apples of the cheeks for a chic flush of colour."

"All our colours are vegan, with absolutely no animal testing, and sold in recyclable glass bottles."
