Quintessentially British with a luxury sensibility, Halfpenny London creates innovative, chic dresses and an array of separates offering a luxurious alternative to the traditional wedding gown. Each piece is expertly created by the most skilled seamstresses in London, using refined fabrics to create innovative tailored silhouettes, alongside its flagship boutique and atelier based in Bloomsbury, the line will launch on Net-A- Porter for Spring Summer 2017. The edit for Net-A-Porter consists of 10 pieces broken down into three dresses, two skirts and five tops fulfilling all nuptial needs, from the ceremony to the ultimate pre / post wedding dinner outfit.
For the whimsical bride, Halfpenny London offers three stand alone dresses such as the deeply romantic, free spirited matte crepe Francis low plunge gown, with delicate spaghetti straps adjoined with feather detailing and a floor swooping train. The simple, languid lines of the Luella gown make this the perfect choice for brides that want something modern yet glamourous. It’s plunging style is made from bias liquid satin and self lined means it skims the silhouette offering the ultimate emphasis on femininity. Crafted from matte crepe, the exquisite Stella gown offers a square draped sleeve and pockets within the side seam of its gathered dropped waist skirt creating dramatic volume and movement.
Halfpenny London’s DNA travels into their interchangeable wedding separates.The Lucy ivory duchess satin top enhances the female form with its elegant long sleeves, fastened with three buttons at the back of the neck, where it falls open to form a relaxed open back. Exquisitely executed from the finest Italian silk organza, the Jojo top which ties at the back in a bow has ostrich feather detailing around the sleeves and is enough to make the fanciful go weak at the knees.
To accompany these modern bridal separates, there is the Ozzie skirt in soft sheer silk tulle that sits at the slimmest part of the waist for the most flattering shape, with a long train that is adorned ornate in handmade 3D organza and ostrich feather flowers. Cover up for winter weddings with the illustrious Rosamond goat coat lined in soft crepe back satin with leather facings.
