THE LOCATION:
We chose Brinkburn  for our ILLUMINATE SS19  editorial location as everything about this wedding venue in Northumberland is simply enthralling.
Brinkburn is the most magical location in Northumberland. Set in a secluded wooded ravine on the banks of the river Coquet this beautiful 12th century manor house, church and Grade 2 listed stable block and grounds provided an unrivalled location for our lead editorial.
The beauty of Brinkburn is its sheer diversity and magic. From a boho wedding reception in the on-site rustic tipi, to a minimal and modern ceremony and party in the impressive adjacent White Room – options are hampered only by lack of imagination. We wanted to capture as much as possible whilst maintaining a fluid colour palette throughout.
Looking at these images - it's no wonder that so many couples love the unlimited photographic options available to them at this historic estate.

THE BRIEF:
The brief was to explore the unique spaces that make this venue literally sing. Lots of light chasing and uncovering beauty spots for wedding photography via two girls wrapped up in their own love story…

THE GOWNS:
We opted for simple and modern silhouettes from Alexandra Grecco and Kate Halfpenny from Marrime Bridalwear in Jesmond partnered with a vintage 1980 Harrods steal from a hospice shop in Canterbury alongside Cizzy bridal gowns from Epernay Bridal in Gosforth.

HAIR AND MAKE-UP CREATIVE:
With an illustrious history in both bridal and fashion hair and make-up Tina Elliott was an obvious choice for this shoot. She kept make-up fresh yet sultry, with dark tones on the eyes and gloss highlights on the cheeks to illuminate the face. A pink lip made the lips pop naturally.

PROPS: The absolutely crazy awesome handmade props for our shoot were crafted by Born Boho, based in Yorkshire. Although they probably look heavy, they were indeed very light and we fell in love with her lace chandeliers and rustic dreamcatchers. All the pieces seen in this shoot can be hired for a wedding. Flowers for the shoot were crafted by Lavenders Blue.
