Styled Shoot: Regal, Enigmatic Romance, Wellies and Wifi
An elegant and exclusive venue nestled in the heart of Yorkshire, Newburgh Priory is a romantic, stately home which emanates radiance as well as a hint of mystery; having a past embroiled in political capers (such as the headless torso of Oliver Cromwell) and an East wing of the house which is rumoured to be cursed and to this day remains a ruin.
In contrast, the main house shines with vaulted ceilings, decadent golds and greens as well as light and shade, making this venue the ideal setting for this regal and enchanting styled shoot, organised by Wellies and Wifi Creative.
Inspiration and Styling
Organisers, Wellies and Wifi, and stylists, Ambience Venue Styling Harrogate, wanted to enhance the opulence of the main house’s gold and green colour scheme throughout this shoot and did so through the use of elegant florals and candles.
Dittany Entwined Floral Design and Ambience Styling Harrogate matched deep greens, neutral whites and soft antique pinkswith a hint of strong burgundy to intensify the backdrop.
Heading out to the ruins and the minimalistic use of candles gives way to a scene-stealing gown from Pronovias, provided by Victoria Robson Bridal.
Fashion
Dandy Threads groom’s suits with subtle tweed detailing, alongside Dittany Entwined’s use of feathers and pampas grass, brought an air of country charm to the shoot.
A smokey eye and loos trestle hair complete with a glistening diamond headpiece added an air of chic edginess to the model’s final look.
Tablescape
The tables were dressed in pinks, candles and a textured floral centrepiece. Rich, gold settings with handmade calligraphy and gold seal stationery from Lonetree added a depth to the tablescape and a nod towards the history of the venue.
Simple, yet effective, candleholders were filled with water and gold beads to add a touch of sparkle to the setting and the final result was a stunning.
Cake
Gayle from Where the Ribbon Ends created three, three-tiered white wedding cakes with hints of gold detailing to tie in with the décor of the different rooms in the venue. The final look of the cakes was minimalistic, yet striking, with a touch of whimsical florals.
In addition to the selection of tiered-cakes, Where the Ribbon Ends also provided a host of delicate mini treats, finished off with meticulous attention to detail – such as handwritten messages on the biscuits and gold foiling on the doughnuts and favours.

The accented colour palette and cohesive additions from these talented creatives sympathetically enhanced this traditional venue.
