Styled Shoot: Green and Gold Excellence at Sneaton Castle

DATE 17 August 2020
VENUE Sneaton Castle
PHOTOGRAPHY Paylor Photography

Bringing together two of our newest Guest List recruits, brand new Whitby wedding venue Sneaton Castle and the sensational snapping duo of Paylor Photography, this styled shoot was a sumptuous showcase of real regal romance.

A Regal Renaissance

The shoot took place in Sneaton Castle, a brand new wedding venue in Whitby which for over 100 years was home to the Sisters of the Holy Paraclete before being bought and transformed by the Morley family.
Having admired the craftsmanship and architecture from their neighbouring celebration venue, The Stables at Crossbutss, the Morleys have brought a distinct sense of romance to the castle, coupling captivating period features with style-savvy touches of modernity.
We speak to Rebecca, one half of husband and wife photography team Paylor Photography, about how the project came together under the roof of a quite spectacular space.

Sneaton Style

“Sneaton’s first wedding was due to take place in April this year and had to be postponed, so we arranged the shoot in order to showcase the venue and introduce suppliers.
“Styled by Sneaton Castle themselves, the shoot showed how the rustic barn can be transformed into a beautifully bucolic space.”

“The colours palette were gorgeous emeralds, sages and white. We created a full wedding set up that includes the chapel, bar and the reception room, with fully decorated tables, including place settings and table plan.”

Belle Loves:
A stately-esque suite from our Guest List goldies White Orchid Print & Design matched the supreme surroundings perfectly. Stationery made for kings and queens.

“The flowers were provided by Countryside Florist and are a gorgeous collection of greenery and delicate white flowers.”

“We were also able to showcase the castle gardens in-between the heavy downpours of rain, but there are also so many beautiful areas within the castle for creating amazing and unique photographs.”

Goin’ to the Chapel

One of our personal favourite spaces in Sneaton is the fully-licensed Norman-style chapel, which took centre stage in this stunning shoot.

From the sweeping flagstone floor to the huge domed ceiling adorned with high renaissance-inspired artwork, the room is a breathtaking example of how historic spaces can be brought to life and savoured for future generations.

"In this crazy new normal it was a pleasure to have such a light hearted but friendly & professional day. Thank you to all who helped make the a success!” – Cheryl Morley, Sneaton Castle

Safety First

“We were careful to ensure that we arranged and ran a COVID-19 secure shoot and ensured that only people necessary to the shoot were present for the day.
“The hair was done with the full PPE requirement by the hair stylist. The make up artist operated from their home via a Zoom call to the model, providing instruction and guidance as the model applied their own make up.”

Here at Belle, we are continually blown away by the immense creativity and sterling commitment shown by wedding suppliers in these incredibly exceptional times.
This shoot encapsulates just that – along with the promise of a brand new venue in all its green & gold gorgeous glory.
Sneaton Castle is now taking bookings for 2021 and 2022 weddings – so brides, get in there while you can!
