Styled Shoot: A Very Vintage Christmas at the Normans
As Autumn arrives, the leaves change, and Covid-19 still throws its ugly spanner into the 2020 works, it’s safe to say we could all do with a little Christmas cheer.
This editorial, captured by two of our sensational #guestlist snappers, Stacey J Evans Photography and Laura Beasley Photography, offers it in boatloads, with an added dose of countryside boho beauty.
Cue those feel-good festive vibes….
Deftly Defiant
Organiser of the shoot Stacey J Evans talks us through the project from concept to completion, and all the pretty pictures in-between.
“This was the first styled shoot I have ever organised by myself!
I wanted to create something magical, with a vintage-cross-boho style and a slight christmassy feel, while celebrating the wonderful creative talents in our industry.”
Right now, everyone in the wedding trade is suffering. This shoot was about giving suppliers a chance to get involved and show off what they can do, proving we are here and not going anywhere!
I gave everyone the brief and allowed them to be creative, to try new things and to just showcase their talents – and I wasn’t disappointed.”
Farm Festivities
The shoot took place at The Normans – a working farm wedding venue in York with countryside charm and rustic romance at its core.
Boasting a beautifully re-vamped barn, a wonderful courtyard, a private ‘snug’, a stable-cum-quirky-bar and a huge reception space, this venue offers couples the whole wedding package in luxe countryside settings.
“The Normans was the perfect venue in so many ways.
The backdrop in the barn of those extravagant sparkles from the floor-to-ceiling curtain of light was just so mesmerising.
Not only this, but the owners were so attentive, and the different areas around the venue gave for such variation.
I’m already married but if I could do it again then it would certainly be there!”
Superstar Suppliers
Taking centre stage in this shoot were Jo and Kieran, who also featured in the exclusive Belle Bridal AW20 Hidden Wilderness editorial.
A real life couple, they provided authentic chemistry and connection which Stacey and Laura captured magnificently.
When it came to the attire, Jo stunned in the most perfect Elysee gown provided by Joana Bridal Boutique in Harrogate, with a plunging back that can only be described as show-stopping.
“The styling was put together by Shindig events, who were second to none!
Cristel took on board my ideas and vision and created the most beautiful christmassy scene."
"We had so many fantastic suppliers involved, from the gorgeous stationery by Unique Designs, who never fail to supply the most intricate beautiful pieces, to the floating tiered cake by cake nation."
"I am so thankful for everyone who was a part of this shoot which celebrated our industry in all its glory.”
We have to agree, Stacey.
