A Rustic Romance at Thornton Hall

A Rustic Romance at Thornton Hall

Brides, today we are hitting you hard with the sheer loveliness of this styled shoot at the modern and atmospheric location of Thornton Hall Country Park, captured beautifully by Georgina Brewster photography and sent to us from Susan at Yorkshire Dales Flower company who was part of the team that curated the shoot.

“We wanted modern luxe inspiration for brides with a rustic twist, and Thornton Hall Country Park is a brand new state-of-the-art wedding venue nestled within 250 acres of idyllic countryside offering outstanding views.  it was the perfect choice to provide both rustic and modern touches. It is also home to resident alpacas, goats and ponies” said Susan.

Susan chose burgundy, blush, ivory and lilac for the colour scheme, complemented with Hellebores picked from her cutting garden, as well as Rannunculus, Anenomes, Roses and Lilac. The floral arch became a focal point of the stunning apex window within the Manor. Styling and stationery was handmade by Suzanne at Suzanne Oddy Design. On the table the layers of colour and texture came from luxurious linens, with Suzanne’s place settings and Susan’s Hellebore flowers. The look was completed with gold coloured candlesticks and exquisite pink and ivory candles. At the centre a flower filled gold coloured rose bowl sat on log slices.  In one of the barns the team found a rustic straw-walled corner which they dressed to perfection with ladders, crates, a flower filled milk churn and vintage bottles with Suzanne’s stunning table plan.

Natalie from The Dragonfly Bakery created sugar flowers similar to the fresh ones used.  The flowers created had exquisite detail and she created a stunning three-tiered wedding cake to complement the theme.  The cake ribbon was supplied by Bertie and Fred.

Val from Truly Essential Beauty was the make-up artist. Val used tones which complemented the overall colour scheme and Katie looked natural and radiant.

Katie’s hair was beautifully styled by Katherine at Beehive Hair Salon, who created several stunning styles with hair flowers by Susan, again inkeeping with the rustic, relaxed vibe of the photoshoot.

Adding to the stylish theme, The Yorkshire Dales Vintage Wedding Car Company brought their 1929 beautiful Rolls Royce wedding car.

The exquisite wedding gowns worn by Katie were designed and handmade by Hayley at Yorkshire based Rolling In Roses – Glory Days Vintage Boutique in York, added both a modern touch and nostalgic touch to the theme.
