Get to Know Amelia Jane Photography:
For Amelia Jane Read, photographs have always been at the forefront of life.
From learning to shoot on an old 35mm camera at the age of 12 to studying Commercial Photography at university, this camera connoisseur has grown up with a love for images and capturing those oh-so-special moments in magical ways.
She photographed her first wedding eleven years ago and much like the couple at its heart, it was love at first sight.
Amelia loved the feeling of being a part of their special day, photographing all of their most cherished memories with the people that mattered most.
Isn’t that what weddings are all about? We certainly think so.
“It always gives me goosebumps when I hear handwritten vows and see the little looks of pure love between a couple on their wedding day.
I’m completely in love with the feeling of documenting a whole wedding day, and the joy it brings to the couples I work with.” – Amelia
How She Works:
Having spent a lot of time at university learning how to create complicated studio lighting setups, Amelia knew that forced commerical-esque photography didn’t really fit her style.
That was when she decided to focus on weddings, utilising natural light and movement to photograph authentic, natural, stress-free moments.
And that is exactly how Amelia works. Adopting a relaxed approach, her photography blends seamlessly into the background of your day, almost like a sharp-but-silent shooter capturing the little and large moments you’ll remember forever without those forced cheese smiles.
The Art of Photography:
But she did take one worthy element from her degree – the freedom to be arty.
Amelia’s wedding images are oozing with creativity, using alternative angles and compositions to create imagery as if straight from the Tate Modern.
From seaside strolls and woodland adventures to close ups of your favourite socks or the glisten of your engagement ring, let this creative capture your day in imaginative and wholesome ways which you will remember for the long run – and be inclined to have framed on the living room wall.
After all, there’s no shame in a bit of self-lauding!
