INTRODUCTION
When choosing a photographer for your wedding day, there’s two things you should consider – do they love their job, and will they slot into the day seamlessly. Thankfully, both fronts are covered with this North East snapper who takes huge pride in photographing your special day with a natural, storytelling style that favours the dreamiest of images. Having been in the game for 12 years, Paula is an esteemed and
expert photographer with a passion for pretty pictures. Her candid style is emotive enough to have you shedding tears and creative enough to have you hanging them proudly on your wall for generations. It’s this two-pronged approach that has seen her delight countless couples over the years with wedding images to tell a story and showcase their wild love in all its glory.
For Paula, no two weddings are the same. This lens lady will get to know you both as a couple, not just your best sides, but all of your complexities that make your relationship unique. Like clockwork, this is then reflected in her approach on the wedding day, moving with light and composition to create beautiful, emotive images that simply have your names all over them.
Artistically, she scouts the venue to seek out the best spots – be it scenic or stylish – and then puts it into practice with a laidback, professional approach on the day. Her background in art and film helps to sew the seeds of this so-called sixth sense, and while she might move you into the best positions and suggest some cute couple poses, generally, it’s au natural.

I LOOK FOR THE FLEETING MOODS AND MOMENTS THAT TELL THE REAL STORY WITHOUT TOO MUCH INTRUSION OR DIRECTION FROM ME.

Rock and Roll Images:
There’s a lot more than meets the lens with this photographer. After leaving school she worked in the rock department of an indie record store, Paula studied Art and Film History before moving into arts project management. She then took a photography degree, and the rest is history. It is this creative grounding that makes her imagery so fluid and aesthetically pleasing.
#BELLELOVES
Apart from that, she is half-norwegian and a quarter Irish, likes the sea, trees and flowers, the weather, black and white films, Nordic Noir, and travelling on trains and planes. Self confessed, her personality type is 'The Mediator' – ideal for breaking up those late night dance-floor squabbles…
FAQ’S
You say you only document what you observe. Do you do group shots?
Yes! Of course I do! I do think it is super important to get a few of these. For future generations to look at as much as anything else. However, I do recommend these are limited in number and I can make suggestions for groups. These shots can eat so much time up, trust me, time when you could just be enjoying and savouring every minute of the day mingling with your loved ones.
Describe your style of photography?
Well personally, I love black and white and contemplative, moodier, shots, but I'm not going to turn your wedding into something its not! If your wedding is all about colour and being bright then I will shoot in such a way to capture all of the colours and the brightness. I am primarily a natural light photographer. I do have lights which I will bring out for any challenging low light situations.
How many photographs will I get?
That completely depends on things like the size of your wedding, the number of guests, how long you have booked me for etc. A full day wedding tends to be around the 500 mark but, if you have lots going on, it can be much more than that.
So, if you’re after emotion-driven, beautiful wedding images, look no further. Get in touch with Paula now!
