One of the most timeless love stories ever, Swan Lake, was the inspiration for this ethereal styled shoot where no detail was missed. The core themes of the famous Tchaikovsky ballet can be seen throughout this other-worldy styled shoot, photographed by husband and wife photography duo – Sephory Photography.
Staying true to the fairytale’s storyline, the space surrounding the professional ballerina as she danced through the shoot, was adorned in French antiques, many of which originated from the French royal court. To further showcase the ballet, these pieces were all from similar time periods.
The on trend feather gowns from Alin Le’ Kal’s spring/summer 2019 collection, worn by the professional ballerina were shipped directly from Paris Fashion Week. From the elegant and sophisticated silk gown with a feathered top, to the shorter and darker gown, each garment celebrated a different persona.
Make-up artist Suzy Sela, carried the running themes of feathers and pearls into the final make-up looks. Accenting the model’s eyes with pearls for the innocent, white swan look, and building the dark swan’s look around black feathers which surrounded the model’s eyes.
Tempered white chocolate and lustrous gold brush strokes created the illusion of a feather encrusted cake on the creation from Mary Eats Cake and subtle hints of feathers can also be seen throughout the floral arrangements through the use of trendy pampass grass.
Even the invitations, were printed on card displaying contrasting grey feathered designs.
All of the elements from these talented creative were brought together with the model who, in true swan lake fashion, was a professionally trained ballerina.
