The Allure Of Autumn At Ellingham Hall
The Allure Of Autumn At Ellingham Hall
It's that time of year where we are drawn to the allure of autumnal colours and this styled showcase at Ellingham Hall ticks all those Autumn/Winter vibes. This decadent, bold and luxurious styled photoshoot was created to showcase to couples just how beautiful Ellingham Hall truly is. We talk to Miriam of The Artisan Wedding House, who came up with the concept of this stylish gathering, about the shoot in depth and the inspiration behind it.
"The idea with our styled shoot was to create a decadent, bold and luxurious A/W vibe at Ellingham Hall. Lynn, the venue's sales & marketing manager, was keen to capture the wood panelling room dressed for an Autumn/Winter wedding breakfast, so that couples could actually see its potential. It's a beautiful room with lots of dark wood and rich colours which ended up being the perfect backdrop for what we wanted to achieve in the first place. As soon as Lynn saw our Pinterest inspiration board, she loved it. It matched Ellingham Hall so well, particularly the wood panelling room."
"The shoot revolved around two main colours: marsala and gold. I am personally obsessed with this combination as it has the most wonderful depth and it inspires elegance and sophistication. The gold accents helped bring out the richness of the colour and the addition of a few black touches and dark green foliage made it even more classy and regal."
"Our wonderful florist, Sharon created a stunning oversized drop style bouquet for visual impact and used the most sublime flowers such as king protea, red dahlia, roses, orange protea, scabiosa pods, berries and eucalyptus. The centrepieces followed the same style and looked spectacular on the tables. The textures and colours were a perfect match for Ellingham and highlighted the season perfectly."
"The cake was called 'Winter' and is one of the Four Seasons collection cakes created by the super talented Bernie. Bernie went for a daring black cake with an octagon base which she decorated with the most stunningly detailed cerise toned roses and gold embellishments. She also created some mini cakes with rich rose gold leaves, roses and fruits which gracefully completed the whole look."
"The tables, styled by myself, looked beautiful with sequin gold table runners, gold rim charger plates and flatware and distressed gold candle holders. These combined perfectly with our marsala chiffon drops and marsala name cards with gold calligraphy writing. Adding our hand-dyed blush gauze napkins and blush taper candles to the mix added a touch of softness which balanced the look exquisitely."
"The dress was Justin Alexander, the ostrich feather stole was the New York stole by Sasso and the headpiece was by Pronovias. Wendy from Bridal Wish chose the ideal dress for the time of year and for the elegant and sophisticated look we were trying to achieve."
"One of the things I knew from the very start is that I needed a real bride with real appeal and not a model. Bernie sent me a photograph of her neighbour Sophie and I just fell in love with her natural beauty, so her hair and make-up were kept simple and classy. Having personally worked with Josephine Birkett MUA, I knew she would be ideal as she is amazing at achieving an effortless, impeccable look."
"Jonathan, our photographer, has the best eye for detail and is amazing at capturing genuine expressions and feelings. He is also the loveliest person and makes everyone feel at ease in front of the camera. He is like a gentle guide with a great sense of humour. He made everyone laugh on the day and nothing was too much bother for him."
