Our vision for this cover was simple – statement bridal fashion delivered effortlessly – paying homage to glorious modern bridal design.
THE DESIGNER INSIGHT
Mark Badgley and James Mischka have been hailed by Vogue as one of the “Top 10 American Designers” and have won plaudits all across the world for their couture and bridal collections that evoke high-octane, old Hollywood glamour.
We catch up with the creative duo as we delve into the fusion of both signature craftsmanship and modernity enveloping their latest designs.

There’s a lot of lovely texture in every dress - can you tell us a bit about the fabrics used, and particularly the lace and tulle patterns?
"Absolutely. Texture is essential to our process and a perfect way we can express ourselves within each design. In this collection, we have combined the use of luxurious heavy silk taffetas, French silk organzas and feather embroidered tulle with exquisite beading, which is signature to our brand.
Which dresses do you see being a bestseller?
We are attracting a very diverse bride, so it would be difficult to choose one dress – however there are certainly some exceptional pieces that we absolutely adore. Avianna, for example, combines a beautiful strapless silhouette with embroidery/beading detail and a romantic silk organza cuff. This dress is both romantic and glamorous, a perfect signature piece by Badgley Mischka.
We love the dramatic Anakara cape and note quite a few other add-on elements – what inspired you to offer these extras?
Adding touches of glamour and drama is what we love to do the most! We have combined our beautiful dresses with luxurious over-sized opera
coats and powder blue opera gloves, bringing a fun element to our runways.
