Starry Eyes...

This alternative wedding styling sensational shoot was all at the hands of our Guest List planner, Skellon Events. Katie was in charge of the concept, planning and styling of the day, and it’s safe to say, she smashed it out the barn. We speak to this savvy styling expert to hear her take on the shoot.

IT WAS AN ABSOLUTE PLEASURE TO WORK WITH SO MANY AMAZING SUPPLIERS AFTER OUR TOTAL WEDDING SILENCE DURING COVID. THE EXCITEMENT AND BUZZ WAS JUST AMAZING.

THE VENUE

“Although we knew a city vibe would be perfect, we were so drawn to the windows of Grange Barn. The combination of the concrete floors and floor to ceiling windows were just perfect. The barn is still relativity new, but we know they are going to be huge on the wedding scene going forward.

THE STYLING

I knew we needed lots of monochrome with a contrast of a bold colour so I chose a clear, bright royal blue. Using silver beam foliage, dainty flower broom and ruffled ranunculus, with the odd scented lilac, sweet pea, and buttercream tulip, Jacqui O created the perfect minimalistic floral setup. Monochrome stationary by PS Weddings printed on high-end luxury paper fitted perfectly for our winter personality, and a minimalistic cake by Red Rose Cakes added a modern art vibe.

BELLE LOVES:

Sweet treats from The Biscuit Tin and Sugar Pop Lollipops provided an ultra creative take on your traditional wedding day favours. They look almost too good to eat (almost)!

I added an element of metallic in the design and brought in Little Creations with one of their usual stand out extra balloon installations, I Do Hire with their neon ‘To the Moon and Back’ sign (top lads!) and The Hush Club with their silent disco. Ibiza in a barn.

THE FASHION

Kezia and Jordan our models were a pure joy to work with. Professional, lovely and head over heels in love. We wanted their outfits to be fashion-forward, so in stepped Eliza May Atelier creating two exceptional looks for our bride.

1) A fitted day time number with thin straps to frame our beautiful brides’ shoulders surrounded by an abundance of material in the puff sleeves
2) A fully sequinned short/cropped top two-piece for the evening celebrations paired with a bespoke Abigail Laura leather jacket, that would look amazing on any VIP red carpet.

Combined with exceptionally beautiful accessories and star adorned veil from Garter & Veil it was always going to be a winning combination. Add a sharp blue three-piece suit for Jordan the groom, and we were picture perfect. Laid back luxe hair emphasised the bride’s natural curls, while subtle shimmer make up coordinated with the day-to-night theme."
