They got planning straight away and opted for the clean, classic blank canvas of The Clarion Hotel in Boldon, a tried, trusted and highly reputable venue nestled between Newcastle and Sunderland – and a member of the Belle Bridal Venue Guest List.

CLASS AT THE CLARION
To make it official, they headed to Our Blessed Lady Immaculate Catholic Church in Washington for a gorgeously traditional ceremony before heading to The Clarion to celebrate in style. White and soft lemon roses, blue thistle (homage to Callum’s Scottish roots) and lots of foliage brought a beautiful, classical yet contemporary spring feel to the main room, designed by regionally-renowned specialist wedding florists, Wild and Wonderful.
THE CLARION WAS PERFECT; THE MAIN ROOM WAS SET UP SO BEAUTIFULLY WITH LOTS OF SPACE FOR OUR GUESTS TO CHAT AND DANCE, THE FOOD WAS FAB AND THE STAFF WERE ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. BRONWEN, THE BRIDE

Bronwen and Callum cut no corners when it came to their photography. Looking for a natural yet artistic style they found Nigel Playle whose relaxed approach ticked every box, resulting in images that told their story as authentically as possible. All the smiles, the doting gazes, even last minute mother of the bride lipstick touch ups outside the church.
BRIDE Q&A
Talk to us about your food and menu choices (we all know it’s the best part!)
We're foodies and wanted to keep it quite traditional so we opted for a beautiful vegetable soup to start, roast chicken for our main and sticky toffee pudding with ice cream for dessert. For the evening, we went for a hot buffet with a range of foods from chicken curry to pizza and lots of tasty treats from our sweet table and doughnut wall.
Who gets the gold medal in the wedding olympics for helping make your day amazing?
My mam, everything was organised to perfection from start to finish because of her guidance, support and thoughtfulness.

How did you feel as you walked down the aisle?
I felt very nervous but excited. I was so grateful to have the special moment with my dad and to see my husband to be at the end of the alter was so exciting.
Out of 10, how involved was your partner in the planning process? (answer honestly!)
5/10. He was involved in choosing the venue, entertainment, cake and the kilts but that was about it. He trusted that my mam and I would plan the most perfect day that he was happy for us to get on with it.
What’s your funniest memory from the day?
Our first dance. We wanted it to be a little different to the usual slow dance so we went with Love On Top by Beyonce. We had practiced before the day and had such a good time but it all went to pot on the actual day! It is a great memory to have though, as we still laugh about it now and our family and friends loved it.
If you could bottle one special moment of your day to keep forever and relive whenever you needed it most, what would that moment be?
Callum: I saw Bron poke her head round the corner before she walked down the aisle and I thought I couldn't wait to be married to her.
Bronwen: when we were in the car on our way to the venue. It was the first time we had a moment alone together on our special day. We were able to take it all in and talk about our day so far.
