REAL WEDDING

A Vibrant Celebration At The Clarion Hotel Boldon

Emma and Mark met through social media eleven years ago. Their first date was at the cinema, and their favourite spot at a waterfall in Scotland was the setting for Mark’s heartfelt proposal. A truly fabulous setting for the beginning of this couples exciting wedding journey.

DATE AND VENUE SET IN STONE

For this Boldon couple, their nearby church was chosen for their vows.  For Mark and Emma, whether they married with a handful of guests or their full numbers, July 31st 2021 was a date they set in stone from the word go. After visiting The Clarion Hotel’s wedding showcase day the couple were simply enamoured by the splendid suites and immaculate courtyard.

Luckily, the pandemic didn’t throw a spanner in their works and everything ran pretty smoothly, just the odd delay in finalising plans which they managed.

“We always knew we wanted to be married at our church in Boldon and the Clarion Hotel was close by, so we we were always going to check it out.  After viewing a few other venues, we attended a wedding fair at the Clarion and seeing the room set up we knew this was the place for us. It looked amazing!

We would definitely recommend this venue to other couples, the team were extremely helpful and accommodating. They have a wealth of experience of planning weddings and guided us through the whole process” Emma

DREAM GOWN

Emma chose a beautiful Maggie Sottero gown from Wedding Wardrobe in Chester-le-Street, Durham.

With its sweetheart neckline and crystal encrusted corset, it complemented her gorgeous wildflower bouquet beautifully. Her nerves and anxiety about wearing such a large dress evaporated as soon as she started her walk down the aisle and saw Mark waiting for her...

A VIBRANT SETTING

For their wedding reception Emma chose a pastel colour-pop palette of pinks, blues and greens with vibrant centrepieces and white-washed chiavari chairs with pink sashes. The setting was truly beautiful, a display of floral fabulousness courtesy of Wild and Wonderful Florists.

Light up letters spelling ‘Happily Ever After’ lit up the room and set the ambience for a fabulous party including ice cream cones for guests from Luxury Vending.

HE’S FOOTBALL CRAZY

As Mark is a football coach, the couple booked John Farnworth to perform his football freestyle, adding a personalised touch they would remember long after their wedding day. The Last Anthem band got their party started.

Their first dance was to “The One” by Kodaline and the couple added another “The Book of Love” by The Airborne Toxic Event” and asked their whole wedding party to join them on the dancefloor.

ONE OF OUR FUNNIEST MOMENTS WAS WHEN IT CAME TO GIVING THE RINGS IN THE CHURCH. THEY WERE PUT ON A BOOK FOR US TO SAY OUR VOWS, BUT BEFORE WE COULD SAY ANYTHING THEY ROLLED OFF ONTO THE FLOOR. WE COULDN'T SEE WHERE THEY HAD GONE AND WE FINALLY FOUND ONE UNDER MY DRESS!
