Acklam Hall: Maria and Andrew's Summer Scorcher Wedding
To celebrate four years together, Andrew bought Maria what she thought was a Pandora ring which she had, had her eye on. However, during a romantic meal at Thorpe Thewles Lodge, Andrew had to apologise for not buying her the ring she was after… he had bought a stunning engagement ring for her instead! Acklam Hall was the venue for their summer scorcher, getting married on one of the hottest days on record (reaching 36 degrees)!

The Venue
“We very quickly booked our wedding reception here as we knew it was perfect and we say no reason to go to any other fairs (apart from a few more at Acklam Hall).” – Maria
The one and only wedding fair the happy couple visited was Acklam Hall. After seeing the remarkable Grade I listed building, with its beautiful function rooms and restaurant, serving mouth-watering wedding dishes, there was nowhere else Maria and Andrew could even consider getting married.
The Hall’s location, along with it having all of the charm of an old Hall but with a modern twist, made it the ideal venue for the bride and groom.
The Dress
After browsing on the internet for inspiration, Maria had found what she thought to be her ideal gown. Heading to the Suzanne Neville flagship shop in London, there wasn’t a dry eye when she slipped on the elegant gown. Although not quite her dream-gown, yet, the ladies at Suzanne Neville made some minor alterations (and added a bow to the back) to create a bespoke gown which was perfect.
The Bride’s Advice
“Take a moment or two…” – Maria
Like Maria says, a bride and groom’s wedding day will be the best day of their life, so it’s important to take a step back and appreciate just how wonderful the day, surrounded by your friends and loved ones, is.
