“I couldn’t imagine a future without him in it.”

This hidden country house, Judges Hotel, set in the very heart of North Yorkshire, played home to the elegant outdoor wedding of Alexandra and Jonathan.

The couple first met when working together, before Jonathan finally plucked up the courage and made his move on Alexandra on a work trip.

Soon becoming best friends, both Jonathan and Alexandra knew from this moment that they would spend the rest of their lives together.

The Venue:

Situated in its own 22 acres of picturesque gardens, the Judges Hotel promised the most perfect and peaceful location that the couple fell in love with.

Alexandra – “We knew that the Judges Hotel was the venue for us as soon as we saw the outside. The grounds are absolutely stunning and although despite originally wanting to get married in a church, we saw the outdoor gazebo and instantly changed our minds.

We were a little anxious about the weather but it turned out to be around 32 degrees on the day, meaning our way came true to get married outside.

We couldn’t recommend the Judges Hotel enough, all the staff took care of absolutely everything on the day.”

The outdoor ceremony space was decorated with white sheer tiebacks and rustic features, while the reception room consisted of ivory and pale pink colours, providing an elegant setting with added Victorian charm.

The Dress:

“My best friend arranged a day out in York for us, with my mam and mother-in-law, we had the best day and I found so many amazing dresses.

I actually saw my wedding dress advertised online shortly after and immediately loved it, so I booked straight in to go and try it on.

They say when you, you know and it’s so true – I loved wearing my dress and wish I could do it all over again.” - Alexandra

Oozing romance and luxury, Alexandra walked the aisle in a beautiful fishtail gown with delicate lace bodice and dramatic ruffle skirt. This Morilee dress was complete with a stunning sleeveless neckline and completed by her pale pink bridesmaid dresses.

The Bride’s Advice:

“Do whatever makes you happy – you’re never going to please absolutely everyone but know that when it all comes together on the day, it’s so worth it.”
