Armathwaite Hall | Amy and Nicholas' Elegantly Beautiful Wedding Celebration

DATE

“Once you see your dream wedding come to life, it is the best feeling ever.”

Set in the heart of the English Lake District, this breath-taking venue, Armathwaite Hall Hotel and Spa, stands proud over Bassenthwaite Lake.

Situated in a revamped, 11th century estate, Armathwaite Hall offered Amy and Nicholas nothing less than picture perfect views, a stunning countryside and most importantly, a wedding day they would remember forever.

Amy said: “I am a dental nurse and Nick was actually one of my patient’s. After his second appointment, Nick messaged me on social media. To begin with, I declined his offer for a date but he was persistent and eventually won me round.”

Amy and Nicholas had dreamt of having a clean, classy and elegant look to their wedding day.

“I wanted to have every single detail, without it looking cluttered or too fussy. We went for a lot of perspex and crystal, to help give the clean and classy look we wanted,” Amy said.

THE VENUE:

Set amidst 400 acres of secluded deer park and woodland, this classically beautiful wedding venue promised the couple an unforgettable day.

Rich golden colours decorated the walls while delicate fairy lights hung from the ceiling, complementing this stunning venue perfectly.

Amy reflected: “We must have looked at every venue in the Lake District except Armathwaite Hall until I attended a wedding fair there and fell in love as soon as I walked in.

I would definitely recommend this venue. The service leading up to the wedding and on the day was impeccable and I could not fault one thing. Also, not to mention how gorgeous the venue is and the views are just amazing.”

THE DRESS:

Amy said: “At first, I was trying on dresses and not getting any sort of feeling that other people had talked about.

It wasn’t until I went to Te Amo, in Workington, that it was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had and they even knew better than me what I wanted. They chose my wedding dress but I didn’t actually like it on the hanger however, once I tried it on, I got ‘the feeling’ (it does exist).

Amy fell in love all over again with a stunning and sophisticated, fishtail Sottero and Midgley dress. This fit-and-flare gown oozed a classic elegance with the intricate beaded detailing, flowing skirt and low back.

THE BRIDE’S ADVICE:

“Enjoy every moment, enjoy the planning and try not to get too stressed because on the day you honestly won’t care.

Try your best to take some time on your day to spend with each other, whether you go outside for five minutes or just find a corner to chat. The day goes so fast, so try to take a moment to take it all in together.

The highlight for me was definitely the speeches, it was the one thing I had no control over therefore, I was completely blind to what they were going to be like but it was nice to sit back and listen to all the effort they had put in.

The room was filled with laughter and tears and I could not have asked for the day to be any better.”
