If you ever needed proof of 'love at first sight' then this is the real wedding for you. Cameron and Iliana were on a student night out when they first set eyes on one and other; from that moment on they knew it was meant to be.

Fast-forward to the 20th July 2017 and the two tied the knot in front of close family and friends in the quaint venue of As You Like It in Jesmond.

“We were very fortunate to live directly above one of the best wedding venues in Newcastle, As you like it, and as this is one of our favourite places to eat and drink we thought it would be fitting to have our big day there. The day itself was outstanding.”

“The organisation and way in which the staff managed the day and treated all the guests was second to none. I highly recommend choosing As You Like It as your wedding venue if you’re looking to be looked after in every way throughout your big day.”

The venue was completed with fairy lights, candle lit fireplaces and vintage florals creating the perfect ambience for the couples intimate day.

“For our wedding day we really just wanted to keep it as small and simple as we could, only inviting a few and very close family and friends meaning we were able to enjoy the day with those closest to us giving us lots of very fond memories.”

Advice for other brides and grooms?

“The first piece of advice we could give to anyone looking to get married is to work out your budget. Once you have that there are several steps you can take to make the planning process flow smoothly.

“The best thing we did when planning our wedding was attending North East wedding fairs. This gave us the opportunity to understand all the elements we wanted to incorporate into our wedding day. This also gives you several opportunities to talk to professionals that attend weddings weekly and can help give all kinds of advice and pointers about all the bookings you will have to make, as well as possibly meeting individuals that will help make your wedding dreams a reality.

“Most importantly for the couple is to not stress out with the wedding planning process, as they should always remember the wedding is the official bonding of their love and they should enjoy the journey in planning that day to the fullest.”

What was your highlight of the day?

“The highlight of the day was of course the first dance, despite that fact that the whole room was full of our friends and family, our connection at that time and the chemistry in the air left us both feeling like we were the only people in the world, this was a very special memory for me one that still gives me goosebumps even now thinking of it.”
