BALTIC: A Beautiful Venue With Beautiful Backdrops
Sophie and Kyle spent the first few months of getting to know each other by exchanging emails, or as we like to refer to them as – the modern day love letter. It took a number of months before the two arranged their first date and after a 45-minute delay involving a street name error, the two finally headed in the right direction.

“We wanted a relatively low cost wedding, we didn’t want one day to cost a year’s wage! Naturally though we wanted the best of both worlds and wanted a gorgeous venue! We wanted the day and venue to be completely us, nothing too formal, a laid-back day where people felt at ease. We didn’t spend time on the little things; it was a day of meaning. We wanted it be beautiful and effortless with none of the legwork – especially having a little one, we didn’t have time to have a plan down to a T!”

Do you have any funny stories from your wedding?
“While on the Quayside with our photographer, on two separate occasions we were asked for photographs. Firstly from a group of foreign exchange students who wanted a selfie with us, followed by two lovely women, who then told me I was the most beautiful person they had ever seen!”

How did you choose your photographer?
“We attended the BALTIC wedding open evening and one of Pete’s photographers was on display. We loved it and thought someone who had shot at the venue before would be preferable for a speedy shoot as we didn’t want the photography to take over our day! He had creative ideas and an individual flare for our stand out shots!”

What is your advice for other brides?
“Do not leave everything until the last minute, say yes to those who want to help you and have a day to remember!“
