Charlton Hall: Lucy and Kev's Wedding Celebration in White
“I wish we could do it all over again.” – Lucy
Set amidst a private 150-acre estate, this luxurious wedding venue, Charlton Hall, played home to the all-white wedding of Lucy and Kev.
Kev popped the question, just last year, on the beautiful river in Kyoto, Japan, after visiting Lucy’s dad to ask for his blessing.
The Venue:
Nestled in the picturesque Northumbrian countryside, this lovingly restored stately home offered the perfect setting for Lucy and Kev’s whimsical wedding.
The incomparable beauty of Charlton Hall, was complete with beautiful grounds, luxurious interiors and stunning coastal views.
Lucy - “We absolutely loved that the venue was brand new and the bold, modern designer interiors were like nothing we had seen before in Northumberland.
The size of the venue was perfect too – intimate and hidden away, like a secret party house! It was great that our guests had not been there before and everyone was blown away by the quirky décor.”
Dramatic green palm leaves stood as centre pieces while bursts of rich golden colours were scattered throughout.
The Dress:
“I visited three wedding boutiques in the North East and I eventually found my perfect dress at Si Bridal in Newcastle. I loved the Riki Dalal range but the dress was completely different to what I thought I would go for!
I knew I wanted something fitted, and fell in love with the high neck and capped sleeves on the beautiful lace top. The amazing cathedral veil just took it to another level and I didn’t want to take it off!” – Lucy
Stepping out into the outdoor ceremony, Lucy wore a gorgeous figure-hugging gown, enhanced with lace detailing. The intricate bodice, understated skirt and high neck added a touch of romance and glamour to their special day.
The Bride’s Advice:
“Don’t stress! I had so many moments of panic and second-guessing my decisions and in the end it all came together so perfectly. Make sure to communicate with your partner throughout the whole process too, and put regular time aside as a couple just for ‘wedmin’.
Enjoy it! Although sometimes stressful, planning your big day is such an amazing time in your life and make sure to involve family and friends where possible (if you want to!) as that can help and also makes them feel included.”
