Danby Castle: Emily and Dan’s Romantic and Rustic Wedding Wonder
After fate brought them together at a summer camp back in 2012, Emily and Dan’s long distance relationship lasted around one year before they decided to make the big commitment of moving in together.
The couple instantly knew that they were made for each other, confirmed by Dan’s beautiful proposal at breakfast, in Paris!
With a desire for a romantic and rustic vibe, with blossoming wild flowers, Emily and Dan opted for the converted barn, Danby Castle, to hold their special wedding day.
The Venue:
Situated on the edge of the North York Moors, this beautiful and historic wedding venue, Danby Castle, created an incomparable setting that the couple fell in love with.
Danby Castle added more hint of character and charm to Emily and Dan’s dream day. When they visited the venue for the first time there was a surprise at every turn and on the day every guest commented on the uniqueness of the venue.
Emily – “I would recommend Danby Castle as a wedding venue ten times over, it’s such a unique venue and there isn’t anything else like it. The first time we went to see it there was lots of surprises as there are so many different parts to the venue. The views are absolutely stunning and everyone commented on the romantic ambience it boasted.”
The Dress:
“I was actually really anxious about going dress shopping and didn’t go until we had been engaged for a year and 2 months with only 8 months to go. I visited Wed2B and never thought I would find my dress that day - I couldn’t walk away without it!” - Emily
Scattered in intricate lace detailing, Emily wore a beautiful fishtail gown with a v-neckline and embellished waistband – complemented beautifully by her dusky pink bridesmaids’ dresses.
The Bride’s Advice:
“Stick to your guns! It’s your wedding and you should do whatever makes you happy and not anyone else. Also, when you’re planning, try not to stress about the little things as you’re most likely the only ones that will notice if not everything goes to plan on the day.
Try to get things sorted as much as possible the week before the wedding date so that the week leading up to the big day you can really enjoy it.”
