We are besotted with this real wedding at the beautiful Treehouse at The Alnwick Garden.
After almost a three-year long engagement, Danielle and Ryan were set to get married in May 2020 with a wedding extravangaza (think singing waiters and a never-ending guest list!), but with COVID at its wedding-ruining worst, the pair decided to tie the knot high in the sky with their nearest and dearest in a more toned-down affair.
Prepare for fire lit frolicking, cosy vibes and the prettiest of pictures from our #guestlist photographer RGM Photography.
A Meeting of Minds
Danielle and Ryan first met while studying at Sunderland University, hitting it off after a few pints of the ever-popular ‘pints of blue’ at Independent Bar.
Their love story unravelled and a holiday to Jersey was where Ryan made Danielle his fiancé with a cleverly thought-out proposal.
“After a lovely meal on the beach we took a stroll along the sand. Ryan started a game of ‘Would you rather’, and asked if I would rather get married but never have a dog, or have a dog but never get married. I chose marriage and as I turned around, he was down on one knee and said ‘Well I can help you with that!’.
Unsurprisingly the answer was yes and this perfect pair began the planning process.
A Spanner in the Works
But that didn’t go as swimmingly, with COVID meaning they had to postpone their big day until March 2021.
Further restriction prompted this loved-up duo to ‘just go for it’ and have a wedding with a smaller amount of people, but what they lacked for in numbers they made up for in sentiment.
Danielle and Ryan opted for The Treehouse at The Alnwick Garden in Northumberland to host their stripped-back love affair.
Boasting rustic features and an intimate atmosphere you could only dream of, this woodland wonderland was the perfect backdrop for their marriage moment (which was streamed live for those who couldn’t make it!)
The Autumnal setting was reflected in the moody, romantic styling, with plenty of Pinterest searched and support from The Finishing Touch company making their dream styling a reality.
For The Love Of The Lens
When it came to picking a photographer for their intimate affair, Ross from RGM was the obvious choice for Danielle and Ryan.
His toned-down, natural approach to wedding photography aligned with their desire to keep things authentic, producing emotional, moody images that the pair will cherish forever.
The tradition is that grooms take a back seat with wedding planning, and Ryan certainly proved that true.
Out of 10, Danielle scores him a 4 for helping with the planning process – “he sorted suits and music but still managed to forget the sound speaker on the day!”
Romance in Rome
When travel restrictions are lifted, Ryan and Danielle plan to go to Italy for two weeks, starting off in Rome before heading to Naples and ending with the Amalfi Coast.
“Peroni and pasta, what more could we want?!”
The dream combo right there, guys.
