Loren Thompson and Matthew Smith from County Durham decided on a destination wedding in the sunshine state of Florida for their romantic and fun-filled wedding.
The celebrations lasted two weeks for most of the guests and they had a fabulous time visiting the best theme parks in the world and enjoying the sunshine.
Her amazing designer dress was the stuff of fairytale princesses and the cute Minnie Mouse ears worn by the bridesmaids at the reception added a fun element to the photography by Orlando-based Lora Rodgers.
Loren shares her happy memories:
“I wanted to get married abroad for something different, I have loved all my friend’s weddings in England but wanted a new place to get married- somewhere with a bit of sunshine that you can’t always get in the UK!”
“I got married on Saturday 22nd January 2011 at the Marriott World Center Hotel in Orlando. I absolutely loved the hotel and the staff were fantastic!”
“It was hard to organise everything via email or on the phone with the time difference and I hadn’t even seen the hotel other than their website, but while planning the wedding I couldn’t have asked for the Marriott to be any more helpful. When I arrived in Orlando I knew I’d made the right decision to book.”
“The hotel made my cake from pictures that I had sent over and I was really happy with the end result. My auntie Sheila did all my wedding flowers, she was absolutely amazing and I loved them!
“I would also like to thank my photographer, Lora Rodgers, who took the most amazing pictures.”
“My dress was by Sottero and Midgley from The Bridal Boutique of Leeds which is run buy two lovely girls called Sally and Charlotte. I loved it so much I had it on again for a relative’s Royal Wedding party the other week!”
“I was nervous in the run-up to the wedding but on the day I was quite calm, it feels quite surreal to think that something you have been planning for two years is finally here.”
“The holiday was a once in a lifetime dream, I’ve never had so much fun with all my family and close friends. When you get married abroad you get to spend more time with friends and family rather than just a couple of days for the wedding.”
“Orlando will always be a special place to us all now. I loved every minute, and am looking forward to our next trip as a married couple.”
