We’ve been reminiscing about our time in Barcelona ever since this gorgeous real wedding landed in our inbox. If you’re avid readers of Belle Bridal then you’ll already know about Barcelona-based wedding planners, Pearl Sandals, who are dedicated in making your wedding dreams a reality. This was certainly the case for Claire and Luke, who had flew from Leeds to tie the knot in Santa Ana church followed by a banquet-style celebration at Sol Y Vida.

Barcelona holds a lot of special memories for Claire and Luke, which is one of the reasons they decided to get married in this stylish city. “We chose Barcelona for our destination wedding, as we love the place! It was one of our first holidays together and it was also where Luke proposed. Plus, the weather here is much better than the UK!

“We wanted something unique, something you could never find at home. It also had to be good for kids. Views were important and lush green gardens. Outdoor dancing was a must-have and this venue had no restrictions on time or sound. Our wedding planners, Pearl Sandals, showed us different options during our visiting day and we instantly fell in love with Sol Y Vida.”

Claire and Luke wanted an informal wedding day with their nearest and dearest. It was important for everyone to have “lots of fun and time together, which is why we also decided on a beach event the day after. If was important that everyone enjoyed themselves, so we rented a bouncy castle for the kids and had both classical, live and DJ music.”

Claire and Luke choose Leeds-based wedding photographer, Joe Brook, to capture their special day. “We’d heard lots of good things about Joe and loved his work. Absolutely thrilled he agreed to come with us to Spain.”

Advice for other brides and grooms?
“If you are going for a destination wedding, go all the way. Show your guests you are in Spain with the choice of food, venue and events. Select a dream team, so your wedding can be the stress free, fun and relaxed.”

What was your highlight of the day?
“When Bob Standards played Praise You by Fat Boy Slim and we danced our first dance by the pool.”
