Nestled within a private 550-acre country estate, this stunning award-winning venue, Doxford Barns, stands proud over Northumberland’s coastline.

After meeting through a mutual friend, in London, their relationship soon blossomed and the rest was history!

Sophie and Adam had always dreamt of having one big party where they could celebrate their wedding day all under one roof.

THE VENUE
‘Your dream awaits.’

Boasting spectacular spaces and picturesque views, Doxford Barns delivered Sophie and Adam their dream wedding experience.

Sophie said: “We visited several venues, both in Scotland and Northumberland, but Doxford Barns won us over with its location and style. It’s such a great venue and I would highly recommend to future brides.”

This bohemian venue consisted of stone walls, delicate fairy lights and rustic features, adding character, romance and charm to Sophie and Adam’s wedding day.

Autumnal coloured leaves were wrapped around the wooden beams above while small lanterns boarded the aisle.

THE DRESS:
Sophie reflected: “I found my wedding dress shopping experience really difficult. I didn’t have a specific style in mind and was very overwhelmed with the amount of choice. My final dress was in fact the second wedding dress I tried on!”

Sophie wore a beautiful, unstated dress, by Pronovias, with three quarter lace sleeves and plunging neckline.

The floor-length veil and flowing skirt oozed nothing less than class and elegance and were complemented by Adam’s blue, chequered kilt.

THE BRIDE’S ADVICE:
“Just relax and enjoy every part of the lead up. If possible, delegate one of your friend’s as a runner, to help with any last minute running around on the day so you don’t have to – I was super chilled on the morning of the wedding!

I think the ceremony was the most moving and memorable part; it was very personal and intimate. Everyone was singing to Madness ‘It must be love’ - it was such a happy and special moment.”
