Ellingham Hall: Laura and Peter’s Weekend Wonderland
“We always knew we were made for each other.”
After meeting on their first day at work, back in September 2008, Laura and Peter’s relationship blossomed around one year later.
Although it took Peter eight years to propose, the couple always knew they would spend the rest of their lives together.
The couple always dreamed of having a silent disco for their wedding, so that they could carry on the party till early hours of the morning, without causing any issues.
The Venue:
‘Exclusive, Elegant, Unforgettable…’
Set in the very heart of Northumberland, this 17th-century, English country house, Ellingham Hall, boasts chic and charm like no other.
Ellingham Hall promised Laura and Peter the most magical weekend for their wedding. The exquisite grounds and boutique interior, allowed the couple to have a day they would cherish forever.
“Walking into the grounds of the venue, certainly had the wow factor for us. The chapel room, where we had the wedding reception, was just stunning and having viewed a lot of venues, we didn’t find any that captured our eye like Ellingham did.
Hosting a wedding weekend across three nights and two days isn’t a small event for any wedding venue, but the staff, at Ellingham Hall, made it seem so easy,” reflected Laura.
The Dress:
Laura said: “I found ‘the dress’ in the second bridal shop I visited. I took all of my bridesmaids, my mum and mother-in-law along to the dress fittings and we instantly knew that I’d found the one when I tried it on.”
The bride stepped out in a fitted Sassi Holford gown, with a delicate embroidered lace overlay. This simple and understated dress, with plunging neckline, oozed nothing less than grace, class and beauty.
The Bride’s Advice:
“Everything tends to happen in peaks, once the venue is booked and the registrar or church is sorted, you’ll have a lull period before another big thing needs organising. I’d use these laid-back periods to pick up the smaller tasks and any DIY jobs you have planned.
Also, try not to stress too much about the smaller jobs. If they don’t get done no one will notice (honestly).”
The Groom’s Advice:
“Remember the wedding is about you both having a good time, not just everybody else, so focus on that and everything else will fall into place. Also... choose Ellingham Hall!”
