Healey Barn: Sarah and Matty's Modern Wedding with a Classic Flourish

DATE

With a mum who is a registrar and a desire for a laid-back wedding surrounded by classic touches, Sarah and Matty visited Healey Barn during a wedding fair and on one cold January evening where they fell in love with the venue under the glow of a thousand fairy lights and candles.

When Sarah met Matty

Even though the couple had went to the same school, due to Matty being a few years older than Sarah, the couple had never met until celebrating a friend’s birthday in 2008 brought Sarah to a bar in Morpeth on the same night as Matty.

“I really enjoyed the whole planning experience.” – Sarah

Although to some bride’s the wedding planning process can be a tad daunting, Sarah couldn’t wait to get organised and took full advantage of planning as far in advance as she could and categorising the little details into easily followed sections on spreadsheets – a girl after Belle’s own heart!

Can’t Fight the Feeling…

Sarah visited a number of amazing shops throughout the region when looking for the outfit that would accompany her down the aisle.

“I visited some fab shops but really struggled to get ‘the feeling’. I visited Bridal Wish and was blown away!” – Sarah

Stocking some of the most coveted names in bridal, Sarah fell in love with Pronovias’ collection in Bridal Wish. As soon as she tried on her fitted gown, with long, carefully embellished sleeves, she knew it was the one.

The Bride Says…

“When areas of planning become overwhelming, just remember the reason you’re getting married.” – Sarah

Even for Sarah there were moments when wedding planning could get a bit stressful, but she made sure to remember not to sweat the small stuff. If small things go wrong then nobody will remember in the long run – but moments like when the bride and grooms photographer took sunset photographs in Healey Barn’s picturesque grounds, or watching your loved ones ‘questionable’ dance moves after one too many tequila pineapples, are the ones that people will remember for a lifetime.
