Helmsley Walled Garden: A Relaxed Celebration For Harriet And Nick
Harriet and Nick first met through mutual friends at a Halloween party while at University in Leeds. Years later on the 5th August 2017 they tied the knot in the gorgeous setting of Helmsley Walled Gardens. The couple wanted a relaxed affair, surrounded by all their nearest and dearest. “It was important to us that the day was as relaxed as possible - no fuss.”

“Helmsley Walled Garden was suggested to us by the mother of the bride, who lives in Helmsley. The Walled Garden only had one other wedding scheduled for the year, so we were able to have the pick of dates. We would absolutely recommend the venue - it is a stunning garden with views of the castle.”

“We did not have to even think about what photographer to have, Pete had photographed a friend’s wedding and more recently the brides sister’s wedding in December. The photos were amazing, so we were always going to use Pete if he was available, which thankfully he was.”

Any funny stories from the wedding?
“The bride hitched a ride in a wheelchair, which ended in disaster when she got thrown out onto the grass, ending with getting a grass stain up the back of her dress!” said Nick.

Advice for other brides and grooms?
“Enjoy the whole process, don’t overthink it or get worked up by irrelevant things. “
What was your highlight of the day?
“Actually getting married and enjoying spending the day with all of our loved ones, especially those who live in various places around the globe.”
