Will you marry 'Sea'?

Whilst on holiday in Hvar, Croatia, perfect pair Ilda and Sam took a private boat trip around the islands. The setting was gorgeous, and Sam made it even more memorable when he got down on one knee while the boat was anchored. “He literally proposed on the boat in the middle of the ocean", gleams Ilda.

I was very shocked and was not expecting it at all, it was just the two of us and it was so romantic.

Being from Bosnia, Ilda was keen to tie the knot somewhere sunny and warm in the Med, so their original plan was to go back to Croatia to wed on Island Vis in Croatia, but COVID restrictions meant this was no longer possible. However, undeterred and determined to commit themselves to each other, Ilda and Sam decided to bring their date forward, and in two weeks, they planned a low-key affair with only their parents, two witnesses and their partners present.

(They still plan on having a ‘second wedding’ party whenever restrictions are lifted!)

Style in the City

The duo opted for Newcastle Civic Centre as their venue. Boasting clean white lines, simplistic architecture and just enough character to make it comforting, the venue was the perfect option for the pair, who dazzled with an urban, sleek and stylish post-marriage photoshoot.

Q: Would you Recommend a lockdown wedding to other brides?

“Definitely! It is so nice to be finally married after all the stress of whether it will actually happen. This way, we can now relax and look forward to having our second wedding when it is allowed. Just remember this way you actually get to marry your soulmate twice and have two weddings. It worked out well in the end - love always wins!”

Amen to that.
